Types of Massage

Shiatsu:  Japanese acupressure massage that restores energy to the body and promotes and maintains health.  Shiatsu lasts 75 minutes and is performed with the client fully clothed.

Swedish:  The most common form of massage.  Swedish massage mainly relaxes the muscles, eases aches and pains and increases range of motion.

Deep Tissue:  A deep pressure massage that helps release knotted, tight muscles.  Deep tissue massage is generally administered with Swedish to help induce relaxation after applying deep pressure to muscles.

Reflexology:  Massage of the feet, hands, and/or ears.  Reflexology involves stimulating areas of the feet, hands or ears that correspond to specific organs and parts of the body.

Prenatal/Postpartum:  Massage for the expectant or new mother.  Provides physical and emotional nurturing for mom and her baby.

Oncology Massage:  Light, gentle massage for the client diagnosed with cancer.  Massage helps reduce anxiety levels, manage pain, and boost the immune system.

There are over 150 variations of massage, bodywork & somatic therapy techniques.  Many practitioners utilize an integration of therapies.
